Award Season!
04/12/24
The category of Best Large Visitor Attraction at the 15th Devon Tourism Awards was filled with goliaths of the leisure industry; Crealy Adventure Park, National Trust’s Killerton Manor, The Donkey Sanctuary and… Escapism Plymouth?!
That’s right! On the 21st November we had a chance to change out of the classic black Escapism Polos and put on our fanciest dress for an awards evening at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Plymouth.
It was a fantastic night of celebration of Devon’s best in the business. From restaurants to event venues, and café’s to glamping, the energy in the room was incredible, 25 categories were covered, and each of the 75 finalists received a fantastic Dartington Crystal trophy.
And we were there in the middle of it! Up against such Devon mainstays, we were nervous and frankly, just happy to be there! Of course when the two bronze winners were called and we didn’t hear our name, we were sure there was some mistake, but then… silver!
For the team it’s a fantastic achievement, after only 2 and half years of being open, they’ve worked so hard to create a welcoming, fun and entertaining place to visit, to test your skills and your logic, and we couldn’t be more proud!
Before the awards began we were lucky enough to chat with Prodigy Escape Rooms in Exeter, who ended up being awarded gold in their category New Tourism Business. Being up against restaurants, manors, as well as the multi award winning Raceworld, it was excellent to talk with friends in the industry.
We couldn’t be more proud of our team, or thankful of the opportunity we’ve had – so here’s to next year!
