5: Explore Plymouth’s History at The Box

Full of history and culture, The Box opened in 2020. A museum, gallery, and archive all in one. The Box offers a fascinating journey through Plymouth's history, with exhibits ranging from maritime heritage to contemporary art. Special summer exhibitions and interactive displays make it an engaging place to spend a few hours. The Box’s general admission is free, but also has some ticketed events for that special day out.

4: Take a Dip at Tinside Lido.

What’s the use in being so close to the ocean if you don’t embrace it? And for those who aren’t quite willing to brave the ocean, why not plunge into Tinside Lido? Open during the summer months, this saltwater lido is a fantastic spot to cool down with a swim while enjoying views of the sea.

3: Have a banging night out at the Fireworks Festival

Taking place this year on the 14^th and 15^th of August, The British Firework Championships is a spectacular event where pyrotechnic companies compete to light up the night sky over Plymouth Sound.

2: Delve into the National Marine Aquarium

Just a stone's throw from the Barbican (and your favourite Escape Room) the National Marine Aquarium is a must-visit, especially for families. As the largest aquarium in the UK, it offers a fascinating insight into marine life from the local waters of Plymouth Sound to the depths of the Atlantic Ocean. The aquarium's exhibits are both educational and awe-inspiring, making it a perfect spot to cool off on a hot summer's day while learning about the underwater world.
